Mid to lower premier league club beat mid to higher premier league club.....Its hardly unheard of. We're not playing well at mo, they are playing well at mo.....Doesnt require a full scale investigation.

When you lose 1-3 at home to an outfit like Crystal Paalce, it's not good enough just to shrug your shoulders and put it down to a bad day at the office. Seriopus questions have to be asked, and more importantly, answered....or, are we really just 2 bob?

What a stupid comment Dapablo.

You do know it's possible to play attacking football at home, against a team in the bottom half, without it being kind of par for the course, that by doing such, we'd in likelihood go 3-0 down?

Re: West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread 1-3 FT
it was pretty much the team that played and defeated Man City overlooking the fact that we were undone by three set pieces (Allardyce's apparent strength ??) and hit the woodwork twice, unlike the City game we looked slow and ponderous with Song having a game as bad as the one at West Brom

I don't think Allardyce cares anymore as he knows he will not get a new contract and this indifference is reflected on the pitch

It is down to Messrs Gold and Sullivan to make the next move

Re: West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread 1-3 FT
Yeah, it was edge of our seats stuff around their 3 set piece goals, Dapablo. Real value for money for the paying punters, I'm sure you know a few?

It was looking likely to be 4 or 5 until the sending off, so every cloud and all that.

Still, he guarantees survival, and for that we have to be grateful.

Re: West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread 1-3 FT
We set up to play attacking football, exactly what everybody here desired because we don't care if we win or lose apparently.

Then we lose and all the goalposts move, don't you lot ever get tired of re-inventing reasons to be miserable?

Now it sticks in my throat to say this but there is actually a good account of our problems against Palace from the Claret and Spu site.

Having read the latest excuses that we couldn't cope with palaces system and tactics then you have to question why not.

Sam is a sophisticated and experienced manager and one the best paid managers in the world.

If he can't work out how to beat palace he's in the wrong job.

It must just be me but I didn't think palace were all that. Still shocked they managed to get 3-0 without controlling the game. It was pretty much all us and the odd counter threat.

Just one of those days. Song needs to get away from the deep lying midfield role for me. But there's not a lot else that appeared obviously wrong. Downing had an off day. I think that form has well and truly passed now. Valencia had a stinker in the first half but in the second when he was having a pop looked like the only player capable of changing it for us.

I predicted at xmas after the hull game we'd have to wait until sunderland at the end of March for another win. If we don't end the season well and win the majority of the run in, its going to be one spectacular collapse to the season. Anything less than top 10 I think will make it extremely hard for Allardyce.

If the other team are getting stuck in and the ref is letting them get away with it then you man up and get stuck in yourself. We looked and played like a team of powder puffs.

Re: West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread 1-3 FT
Palace were better than us everywhere, especially tactically. Pardew had Sam beat all ends from Sunday.

I agree I want the season over, he knows he is going and the season over means that cunt has fucked off.

Re: West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread 1-3 FT
They should of had 2 players sent off. There is a lot of hypocrites on here. If one of our players done what Murray and Jedenik did they would of walked and it would of been our players fault. Yes we were shit but we got kicked of the park and the ref done nothing. The ref did change the game and let them persitantly foul and disrupt us. You could see out players getting frustrated

"I've lost all enthusiasm for the remaining games to be honest and just want the season over. "

Me too. But this wouldn't be the case if the football was good. If the football was good - at least more often than it is now - we'd have something to look forward to at games. We don't have to be winning all the time if we're being entertained.

Sounds like we really need that warm weather "training" out in Dubai. That'll be the next excuse.

Strangely enough, Allardyce has investments there too. Coincidence?

Re: West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread 1-3 FT
i think that what made the difference yesterday was that Pardew fired up his lot, which is one of his strengths, it is not something Allardyce is that renowned for. I bet a lot of the firing up in the dressing room comes from Nolan. There is a lot of talk about Collins starting, but we have had a relatively settled and solid back four, why change it? Song has been off the boil for some time and has played some suicidal balls, and to keep his place must up his game.

So, it will be interesting to see the reaction, team selection and performance Wednesday.

Re: West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread 1-3 FT
With Carroll out for the rest of the season we have a first eleven ( underperfoming right now ) and no cover of sufficient standard.

Yesterday Palace, yes Palace, had a far better bench than us. For me the only player of guaranteed first team level on the bench was Ginge.
